Riccardo Maldini

Who I am, and what's this space

What's the purpose of owning a personal blog in 2026?

With all the AI tools at our disposal, I could easily fill this website with flawless, AI-generated technical articles. Or maybe just turn this into an anonymous portfolio website. Is this just another sloppy AI page?

The short answer is no, obviously. My name is Riccardo Maldini, and this is my personal blog. This is where I've decided to collect my thoughts, projects, things I've done, and ideas I've had.

I'm a software engineer, currently based in Milan. I was born and raised in Jesi, a small town in central Italy. I moved to Milan for work and because (unpopular opinion) I actually like the city.

Writing is how we clarify our thoughts, share our projects, and truly master a topic. It forces us to slow down and deepen our understanding. This place is a retrospective: a way for me to document past projects, ensure I don't forget the lessons I've learned, and value the path that brought me here.
